Smash Hits makes a return for MJ tribute

Smash Hits was a memorable part of my childhood. Every Saturday morning i would scour the shelves at my local super market and size up the best cover star and free gift offered in the two iconic 90's music magazines: Top of the Pops and Smash Hits magazine. Usually the magazine with the most stickers was the overall winner, i was a sticker manic at the age of 10 and proud! However, sadly in 2002 the magazine was closed though prompted by the overwhelming grief of Michael Jackson fans ; loyal editor Barry Mcllheney revived the cult teen pop magazine for a tribute issue in MJ's honor. The one off 52 page issue includes Smash Hit's last ever interview with the king of pop, lyrics to his most famous tracks, pull out poster, many articles of Jackson's associates (that clear up the weird and strange rumors) and how a talented child progressed in to one of the most iconic figures in music industry. The magazine went on sale yesterday and retails at £2.99. Among the shelves there are many other magazines published as a tribute (including the scary cover of OK! magazine which shows his death shot.. eerie!), but Smash Hits will always be remembered as the true magazine of pop so it only fits that they must play tribute to the true king of pop!

I bought this issue today, i will keep it tucked away in pristine condition and hopefully it will mean alot more one day.
