After growing my hair for what seems like a decade (six months if we are being precise), i now want to hack it all off in a bob after seeing these photos of ScarJo in the latest Mango S/S 11 promo campaign. This overwhelming desire choppy long-length bob will have to remain in the back of mind, at least over summer where tumbling curls seem to be a distant hope!

I feel like everyone and the cats mother are after luscious long locks, part of me wants to go for the chop for this very reason alone. But i think i'll hold back, maybe A/W 11? 

A town called malice

Sitting in front of my Mac book with the dissertation blues just about sums up my life at the moment, but life just got a little bit more exciting. Next Monday i have been offered the chance to try out a new hair treatment at the Eleven salon in Mayfair. The treatment is called the Digital Perm, my first thoughts were a perm? A real, real perm? Didn't they only exist in the eighties? But after much more reading on the subject, the Digital Perm is a new curling technique which produces more larger, softer curls. Think big glam curls, or loose bohoo curls. Low maintenance curls that look fabulous? Yes please! 

Now that LC has finally become a brunette and i'll hopefully have long swirling curls, all i'll need to do now is have a sun kissed glow and master the art of that bloody eyeliner flick! Needless to say, after i've had the treatment, my partner in crime Sarah will be on hand to snap some photos, to be posted in my review for one of my favourite beauty blogs British Beauty Blogger - it's practically a crime not to follow her fyi.

Hair. How do you wear yours? We always want what we can't have, whether that be that gorgeous beach blonde and curly, the mysterious redhead with thick luscious locks, or the brunnette pixi cut? I've never had my hair as long as i have it today, it grows at an alarming slow - snail pace rate, where as usually i keep in it a shoulder length bob, i kind of let it do it's own thang, growing both my hair and my fringe out.

Now that it's got to a desired longer length, i've come to realise that it hangs heavier, hanging straight, rather than a deserted bird's next. For as long as i can remember i've been a slave to the straighteners, well i'm officially hanging those up (apart from serious cases of bad hair days and time i actually want the sleek look), i'm just gunna go with my natural locks.

I never even realised my hair had the potential to look so full of life! When you get so used to a certain routine, relying on the art of straightening, you forget what your own natural hair looks like au natural. My hair has never looked so thick, literally just letting it air dry.

Then for a twist i use my Babyliss Conical Wand, when i'm not lying - every woman/girl should own. They are twenty squid, easy to use, curls is under 5 mins then tadah..

Most of the time i either wear my hair straight or pile it on top of my head aka the pineapple. The newly daubed pineapple hairstyle is fast becoming a new hair routine for me, purely because its easy (aka pile it all up there!) and it looks effortless. Plus its handy in the hot weather! And i think i actually prefer my hair up than down sometimes.

Last week i saw another short article in Look magazine demonstrating this particular hair style, which i thought roughly looked like a mash up of half Whitney/LC do.

Combining the middle parting with front sections twisted back in place with a kirby grip, yet still pulled in to a high top bun. It would have never of occurred to me to combine the two, but i rather like it! A little bit odd.. but cute all the same!

It really baffles me that either wearing your hair straight, curly or piled on top of your head can really change your appearance, do you ever wear your buns sky-high?

Plaits are everywhere this summer according to the fashion pages, yet although i've been admiring from afar i've never really bothered to attempt a pretty plait. Call me lazy, but when it comes to hair styles, i'm style and go, out the door. But on that rare occurrence i do like to try out new styles - for the past three months i have been donning the LC centre parting, pull fringe back. But it's time for a change - i need to get out of this hair style rut!

Here are a few (awful) attempts at plaits:

The Heid/ Sienna

Splitting your hair on a middle parting, plaiting one side.

Then taking the plait to the crown, then securing with a bobby pin.

Then the same with the other side.

I feel a little silly, not going to lie, but bringing wispy bits round the front and messing it up slightly gives it beach look, perfect for the summer.

The LC braid

Simply taking a small section of hair, braiding it and pinning it at the back, so simple again but so pretty!

The Messy Side Plait

Does what it says on the tin, by far my favourite! Most definitely on bad hair days, so quick and easy.

The French Plait

Despite the fact i look like a chavvy Cheryl Cole in her younger years, this does wonders for my cheek bones! Alas i have thin hair as it is, so the plait does take up most of my hair - boo!

The Halo

Take a pinch of hair, half way down the head on one side.

Plait into a small braid.

Bring it across the head to create a 'halo' and safely secure with a bobby pin.

My hair is best to style with when not straightened, otherwise it completely falls out! If hair is not willing to stay in a bobby pin, slightly back comb the hair to give more grip. The plaits styles i created are certainly making their way into my daily routine. Perfect for a quick easy hair style, when the prospect of straightening hair in this heat is pretty much unbearable. I would also wear these on holiday (if i was going - further boo!) as they are so easy to achieve and dress up a beach/bed crazed hair style.
