Esquire US - August 2011

I adore this front cover, the captions, the humour, the stereotypical male magazine. I would have loved to publish something like this. Will definitely have to take a trip to Selfridges magazine department.

I say a little prayer for you!

Olivia Palermo for Marie Claire June, UK,

I adore Miss Palermo, although she looks slightly different here and i can't quite put my finger on it. She doesn't look as bronzed maybe? Even so, she is still as beautiful as ever.

How us simpletons can steal her look:

"Maintain yourself. Don’t go to sleep with makeup on, have a great tailor, get your shoes brushed up and re-soled regularly."

If only, it were that simple!

Listen baby, aint no mountain high, aint no valley low.

Kate Moss on the cover of March Vogue 1993

I'm not the biggest Kate Moss fan, i can appreciate her style and how she was the waif-like model from Croydon (my ends) who ripped up the Supers. These days - well, lets just say that Mr Mario Testino can make any girl look a million dollars. But looking at her first ever Vogue cover in the 90's, i'm totally captured by her bambi-esq wide eyed pretty little face.

Nicole Richie for Russian Harpers Bizarre
Photographer: Katie Bleacher & Dean Everard

I adore her marcel curls and that punch of coral lipstick. If this doesn't put in a summer mood, what will?

Thought of the Day.

Wednesday, January 5, 2011
The thought of the day centre's the February issue of Tatler. In a special collectors edition, they have used one of the iconic shots of Kate Middleton taken during the announcement of her engagement and rather bizarrely given her the Warhol effect. I think it looks down-right awful, poor Kate! Still her blow-dry perfected hair still looks immaculate, even though i could have created the same shots on my Mac book. Scoff.

Weird, but ahem, i'll still buy it.

L is for the way you look at me.

Olivia Palmero for Tatler, US
I need to get my hands on a copy of this.

Olivia Palmero is my ultimate style icon, she has such a classic style.
A style her truly own, with her own stamp.

Last week Olivia debuted her new shorter locks at New York fashion week, after saying she had been thinking about it for a while. Her hair looks so fresh and healthy, i'm tempted to go for the chop now...

Thoughts?

love or hate her, she's got the new Mulberry S/S 11 like putty in her hands and model boyfriend to die for.

Young Pretty Things

Monday, September 7, 2009

'Pretty, young things' is the perfect title for the latest copy of i-D magazine.

Chanel Iman, Sessilee Lopez, Jourdan Dunn and Arlenis Sosa shot by Emma Summerton. It is an ensemble of the newest, hottest young models around at the moment with the longest on going legs. This edgy shoot shows beautiful dresses and great styling.

And quite frankly its about time these gorgeous girls graced our covers; if they can do runway, why not covers?

but of course, that old stereotype, that gorgeous 20 something black models can't sell magazines.. i-D just proved them wrong, i think that era is OVER.

Sessilee Lopez. aged 20. has walked for: Zac Posen, Emporio Armani, Karl Largerfield, Dries van Norton and Vivenne Westwood.

Arlenis Sosa. aged 20. has walked for Doir, Oscar De La Renta, Micheal Kors, Alexander Wang, Bottega Venta, Anna Sui, Donna Karren, Jason Wu, Derek Lam, Matthew Williamson and John Galliano.

Jourdan Dunn. aged 19. has walked for: Prada (first black model to walk for Prada in a decade), Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Alexander McQueen, Hermes, Ossie Clarke, Rodarte, Givenchy, Chanel, Doir and Matthew Williamson.

Chanel Iman. aged 19. has walked for: Dolce & Gabanna, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Hermes, Oscar De La Renta, DVF and Jean Paul Gaultier.

“There are loads of black models working and the idea that there's only a few of us, or four of us, to let in as top models at any one time is just bullshit.”

Jourdan Dunn.

See Jourdan Dunn at Topshop on Thursday 10th September giving style advice! I shall be certainly there! Dunn will not be walking in any of Fashion Week, as she is pregnant and is due in December, yummy mummy!
