My thoughts, it wants to be everything the Chanel adverts are, but isn't. It simply lacks glamour and drama. Yet, Kate Moss does make those lipsticks look irresistible, but yet again, Duran Duran save the day. Hurrah for Dior though, what a kick ass PR campaign to down play their former racist chief designer.

Kate Moss and Topshop break up.
Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 2:05 AM
Okay, so not quite as dramatic. But it has been announced today that Moss is ending her 'design partnership' with Topshop. Why, may you ask? Well after three years, the supermodel has decided she has other commitments and it is reported that she has at least made £3m from the ranges. Many questions spring to mind, did she even really put that much work and effort in to her collections? I mean most of the time she ripped designs from her own pieces - which were already high-end designer creations. Is it really that hard to whip out another collection when you can easily make another million? I don't know, maybe Kate has something more exciting in the pipeline, and not another perfume we hope. On the other hand, Mr Phillip Green (my all time hero) does he have a black up plan? There are thousands of head hungry fans, both celeb and designers that would probably kill for shot at designing for Topshop, we've already had Mr Kane and Mark Fast, but they were shadowed under the lime light of Kate. It begs the question of what will Topshop whip out of the bag next? With a successful make-up range already accomplished this year, who will they next get on board to front the TS brand? Alexa, Daisy? Nah, we need something fresh.
What are your thoughts on this? I personally don't really care that much for Kate's style so i'm a tad biased, so i'm not that fussed to see her over-priced, non-selling clothes. Maybe it was good for her to get out early, before it just got too same-y? But something must be brewing at the Topshop towers, one question, who next?
Kates A/W collection will stilll feature in October, but that will be her last collection, lets hope she's worked bloody hard, and it looks amazing..
New A/W Kate Moss for Topshop
Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 5:09 AM
Today was the launch of Topshop's new collection designed by Kate Moss for her new Autumn/Winter Collection. This latest collection will be her 11th line for Topshop, presenting her usual trademark vintage style to create a fusion of up to date pieces that reflect her own wardrobe. The range varies in price from £22 to a staggering £350, including embellished sequined dresses and cardis, tea dresses, jumpers and cute printed scarfs.
Many people see Kate Moss as a true british style icon, emphasising cool Britannia in her vintage, indie looks. She was the Croydon school girl, with the waifish, boyish figure who got spotted down the high street. Moss' Calvin Klien adverts are highly iconic and she has graced over three hundred magazine covers, yet i think her heroine chic looks have defiantly faded.
With the infamous relationship with druggie Pete Doherty and the Cocaine Kate scandal (that lost her many, many advertising campaigns) her life has dramatically changed. Although she seems to be in a stable relationship with Jamie Hince (from the band The Kills) i think her once appealing nature has been ruined by the constant smoking and partying lifestyle. Unlike many, i would not describe her as a fashion influence in my choices at all, partly because we have different style personas and tastes. However, within this collection there are two items that i think are truly beautiful and good buys:
This embellished blue chiffon dress is stunning! The statement, bejeweled collar is so pretty and i like the loose chiffon material, tightened in at with the chiffon waist belt. The colour blue would look great with gold heels and bag and could be teamed with either bare, tan legs or black tights. Seriously, i'm very impressed with this dress and it is certainly a top contender for a birthday dress!

This military style cardigan is bang on trend, with the navy colour it can be teamed with anything, from dark blue skinny jeans to a stripy tee and leggings.

Although, these two pieces are very eye catching i will not be tempted to buy as of yet. As perviously seen with all her collections they have not dramatically sold out, even most items appear half price within the Topshop sale! so i will bid my time and hopefully be able to score a beautiful bargain!
