I need the dollar.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011
I'm just going to say it: i'm a Lauren Conrad fangirl. Don't judge. Whether its stalking her style or watching endless re-runs of The Hills, LC has well and truly got me hooked and following her every stylish move. From the infamous kitten eyeliner flick to her pinned back braid, i aim to adopt her classic, simple yet sophisticated look. Miss Conrad has come a long way from Laguna Beach days, she successfully has her own business empire, from a collection in Kohls, fronting the Mark make-up line in the US, and of course not forgetting her LA Candy book series which fast tracked her to the The New York Times best seller list. Not bad for an MTV reality starlet, eh?

Since her Style book was released i've been itching to read, in the mean time of getting round to finally purchasing it, i stumbled across the recently launched The Beauty Department.

The Beauty Department is penned by Lauren and her make up artist Amy Nadine and hairstylist Kristen Ess, jam packed of beauty news and advice, with tutorials, and step-by-step guides. LC who basically lives and breaths curling tongs and liquid liner, i can't wait. Who else better to learn from to finally learn the knack of liquid liner!

Enjoy! ;)

A town called malice

Sitting in front of my Mac book with the dissertation blues just about sums up my life at the moment, but life just got a little bit more exciting. Next Monday i have been offered the chance to try out a new hair treatment at the Eleven salon in Mayfair. The treatment is called the Digital Perm, my first thoughts were a perm? A real, real perm? Didn't they only exist in the eighties? But after much more reading on the subject, the Digital Perm is a new curling technique which produces more larger, softer curls. Think big glam curls, or loose bohoo curls. Low maintenance curls that look fabulous? Yes please!

Now that LC has finally become a brunette and i'll hopefully have long swirling curls, all i'll need to do now is have a sun kissed glow and master the art of that bloody eyeliner flick! Needless to say, after i've had the treatment, my partner in crime Sarah will be on hand to snap some photos, to be posted in my review for one of my favourite beauty blogs British Beauty Blogger - it's practically a crime not to follow her fyi.

A chance to write for BBB and get a-list curls? My boring Wednesday afternoon of researching just got ten times better.

Do you prefer LC blonde or brunette? Curls or poker straight locks? Oh, the questions!

LC - a girl with a book tour, a never ending braid and a style i want to raid.

Day One

i need long thick hair, now please?
i adore tea dresses and blazers, a tea dress has a soft summery feel whilst the blazer gives it an edge.
it's nice to see some one actually wearing a bold lip, every ones gone pastel crazy and im all for a good nude lip - but some times it just looks chalky and matte - yak!

Day Two

i spy a Phillip lim spotted blouse, which i've had my eye on for a while in cream, twins much!
i could also tell you thats a Topshop linen skirt ;)

Day 3

i personally think its just greedy to own a Balenciaga weekender bag and a Chanel quilted..
i always fly in leggings, they are just so damn comfy!

Day Four

i need this scarf in my life now, keep the wellies (nice, but im waiting on summer) and of course, i wouldn't say no to the Chanel.

The Transformation of LC's braid

Lauren Conrad has been wearing her signature plait twist since like forever? From two neat twists to plaits here, there and every where; this trend quickly caught on, both in London and over the pond. I myself have been wearing a centre parting for months - which i haven't done so since i was like 8 years old? With her masses of barrel curls, cute braids, Chanel bags galore and cute blazers, LC has steadily risen in my style stakes.

When she appeared on The Hills, even Laguna Beach, i envied her Californian tan and blonde locks (and Jason, nom nom). She always looks primmed to perfection, without a hair out of place. All i need to do, is too attempt her signature eyeliner flick!

LC > Spedi!

the messy french plait.

I raided H&M for some much needed basics.. clearly stealing some LC style!

the h&m version of those American Apparel tees
perfect for summer - with denim shorts or a fitted blazer

the perfect little bargain! this pop of colour is really summery, can't wait to wear this.

i picked up this pretty little vest too, from H&M's new Garden Collection.

(i think its time to whip out the fake tan again, ladies!)

Team LC!

The fabulous Lauren Conrad goes for dinner with her mother in LA. After leaving The Hills, LC has gone on to produce more of her clothing line as well as penning her first novel LA Candy; where Jane a young girl new to LA is discovered by a producer that wants to cast them in a new reality show, full of drama, fashion and men. Sound familiar? Also sounds abit naff, but big love to LC who managed to get LA Candy on the The Times Number One Bestseller list, so maybe i shouldn't be so critical?

The sunny yellow coat is so adorable with of course the standard Chanel bag. LC is definitely a style icon, her flicked out eyeliner and centre parting with a neat ensemble of clothing never fails to make her look perfect and glamourous. One day i will master the art of perfecting that eyeliner flick!

Any one been watching the new series of The Hills? The ratings have dramatically gone down after Conrad made her exit and Kristen appeared on the scene. I've grown to Kristen and her man eating ways, but i still can't get her 'STEE-PHEEEEN' out of my head - Laguna Beach.

Team LC or Team Kristen?
