All About Fashion Week

Fashion Week, if you don’t already know, is the uttermost place to be. In the four weeks that takes place, fashion insiders and fashionistas are consumed in the latest trends and styles for the next season. The four weeks take place in the fashion capitals of the world, starting in New York, to London, to Paris and then finally in Milan. It allows both big fashion houses and up and coming designers present their next collection for the next season to buyers and fashion PR. Fashion weeks are semi- annual events, showing Autumn/Winter collections throughout January through to March and Spring/Summer collections are shown from September through to November.

So while im prattling about stocking up on thick knitted tights and the search for the perfect winter coat, the fashion houses and designers have already decided what we will be wearing next summer! This is to allow press and buyers the chance to arrange purchases of pieces as well as take on designers within their retail lines (such as Selfridges). Also giving us a heads up of the best, iconic pieces to buy for Spring.

Getting in to Fashion week

Very hard to accomplish, only if you:

a) work your ass off as an intern for designers, press or pr (lots of running around but plenty of mingling)

b) are minted or a friend of the designer,

c) work in the fashion industry, PR, magazines and press.
