Footloose

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Your going to love me or absolutely loathe me. Last year, i was given these tan riding boots for my birthday and i adore them. They can easily be worn with anything, evoking my inner parisian chic (i wish) and they are ultimate best friend on rainy days. However, just this minute i was snooping the H&M mid season-sale and i saw these beauties having been reduced to £19.99 - a steal in my eyes. Alas, H&M are awfully bad (AMAZING) with promotional codes and if you enter the following you can save another fiver and 25% off the sale price, bringing them down to £10.14. What are you waiting for?

£5 off - 1304
25% off - 9514
NB. At that price you can neither moan if they get delivered in November & they always re-stock sizes - so  keeps your eyes peeled if your size is outta stock. Bizarre right?

I have so much to say, including my birthday, the amazing Topshop outlet i found & some amazing goodies i bought from Westfield today.

I can tell he'll be there for life.

H&M is truly coming up trumps this season, so affordable but great everyday pieces. If only i could mix and match my own wardrobe so well, sigh.

Which look do you prefer? Honestly, i may have to slowly buy 'em all!

I think i'm in love with a girl 2 doors down.

There is nothing like a spot of retail therapy, or in my case, buying most of the internet. It's so hard to resist the lure of Topshop online, even more so when the shops (or the weather) can't make its mind up over what season we are currently in. Whilst my house literally turns into a small post office next week with deliveries - all shall be revealed soon may i add - i've come across some fabulous offers i had to share..

H&M

I stumbled across these discounts on twitter somewhere, one for £5 off and another for £10 off - the best bit? They can be used together! Not sure on the expiry date, so hop over there quickly - perfect for picking up some summer basics. I admit that the H&M online shopping experience is rather troublesome, but with a discount of £15, you really can't grumble. I spied a lovely navy dress thats currently on route to me.

code 8964 is for £5 off.
code 9217 is for £10 off, can be used together!

ASOS

This 20% discount came with Look magazine, go go go! Nars, River Island, Dahlia? Yes please! My biggest recommendation is the Jemma Kidd blush in Fifth Avenue, perfect coral blush. Although this River Island dress has caught my eye, these Ray Ban ripoffs from ASOS are pretty tempting and Nars lipgloss in Orgasm is bloody tempting i dare say!

code ASOSLOOK - 20% ends midnight.

Debenhams

This weekend Debenhams are offering 10% off all skin care and cosmetics, with the likes of Mac and Bobbi Brown, oh snap! I so want to try the Clinique Tinted Moisture Surge after receiving a sample in Glamour, Benefit lip-glosses are just perfect in my eyes (especially Life on the A-List) and my all time favourite must-have eye cream GinZing by Origins.

Discount automatically taken off at the checkout, with free delivery - there is no excuse.

Naked Body Care

The lovely Leanne highlighted this amazing offer for me on discount site Groupon are offering the fab deal of buying a £20 voucher to spend online at Naked body care for the bargain price of £8. I love this natural brand, it hosts a wide range of gorgeous scented lotions and potions for sensitive skin, all paraben and SLS free - good if your looking for a cheaper alternative of Liz Earle shampoo/conditioner. Their body washes are to die for, and are very gentle. It can be found in Boots, but the online site has some fantastic bundles of products at very very reasonable prices.

New Look

This is the last weekend for 20% student discount, seriously impressed with their spring/summer collections. I fully intend to BURN my NUS card to the ground now that i'm no longer a student - sob!

Glossy Box

I'm sure everyone and their grandmother must have heard about Glossy Box by now, but if you've been living under a rock for the past month let me explain. Glossy Box is a bloody brilliant idea, each month for a subscription price of £10 you will receive a Glossy Box that contains five premium beauty miniatures, from the likes of Nars and Laura Mercier. This service is a fabulous to try out high-end products before paying full price. With British make-up counters being so crazily stingy when it comes to samples, Glossy Box is your perfect middle man! I have already ordered my first box which should be delivered this week, so watch this space!

Crikey, next they will be offering it for free, I WISH!

Oh what became of the likely lads

On Thursday i ventured out for a good dose of retail therapy with Sarah. I had to pop into H&M to return these scalloped shorts much to my sadness, as they really didn't fit well and to be honest, i can't quite pull off the fact they look liked a over sized pair of granny knicks in a 'stylish' way. However, i managed to score this lace dress, another item from the Conscious Collection, in which i had tried to buy previously but couldn't find it in my size!

Lace dress - H&M (£29.99)

I love the lace sleeves, its a floral pattern rather than standard lace but i adore it! It fits perfectly, so light and summary, i just need the sun to make another appearance!

cream tired dress - French Connection (£110.00)

Seeing as my parents have already got suited and booted for my graduation, i had a quick peek in French  Connection to gaze lovingly on their beautiful selection of dresses. This tired piece i have had my little eye on since my 18th birthday, yes it really has been in stock that long! After a quick whirl in the fitting room, i decided it was the one. It fits perfectly, its simple, classic, just what i'm looking for. Of course i looked again at the price tag and shuddered, and it didn't make its way home with me, sad face.

Thoughts?
I also bought the loveliest sheer silk racer blouse, and have made an order with Topshop, of which i will show in due course.

Up the Bracket

Wednesday, April 13, 2011
I saw this new collection featured on Sarah's blog a few weeks ago, and i had to share my top picks with you. There has been little publicity and hype surrounding the H&M Conscious collection, which i find rather bizarre simply because the pieces are just so simple, fresh and pretty, not to mention utterly affordable - i can justify buying the entire collection.

The Conscious collection is an eco-friendly range, made only from recycled cotton and polyester, promoting the use of sustainable greener materials. Not only does this collection have a fantastic message to promote, it has a minimalistic style of crisp white tailoring, yet romantic frills. Think scalloped edges, brodie anglaise, frills with grecian inspired gowns for evening wear.

Tunic - £14.99

Perfect for lazing on the beach, or even in the garden with denim cut offs.

Dress - £29.99

A must buy, perfect for summer evening parties.

dress - £34.99

I'm not too keen on any hem-lines that pass my knees, but this grecian maxi-dress is perfectly simple.

 dress - £34.99

How can pretty can you be? The frills, laces and tie-up straps are evoking my inner romantic.

 dress - £29.99

I adore the floral patten, and the scalloped edge ever more so!

dress - £29.99

Sadly i don't have the assets to carry off this dress, but this design looks like something straight off the runway not high-street.
  top - £19.99

Such pretty detailing.

blazer - £29.99

Crisp white blazer, a tan, grey tee, denim shorts.

blazer - £29.99

I adore the nude pink shade, practically goes with everything and anything.
 shorts - £14.99

Textured, tailored shorts -i just need to hunt these down.
 shorts - £12.99

My favourite piece from the collection- such a STEAL. So dainty and pretty, i will leave no store un-turned until find these - they will be mine!

The collection launches in-store and online tomorrow (the 14th April), will be you hunting pieces down?  Killer failsafe designs, good quality and great prices - i highly salute you H&M.

Get up off that thing.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011
After much deliberation, i came to the conclusion that myself and a pair of trousers do not see fit together. I find them uncomfortable, and they are easy to get stuck in a style rut. I much prefer dresses and skirts, simply because i feel more feminine and they are just so easy to wear, no thought process involved. This was however until i came across Blair's blog, and rushed out to buy every chino in sight.

Striped Top - H&M (current season - £7.99)
Button Detail Chinos - New Look (£22.99)

I love the shade of these chinos, a dusty brick colour. A shade i've never worn before, but i already have a thousand outfit equations in my mind.

Floral Blouse - Topshop (past season)
Cream Chinos - Tesco (£16.00)
Plaited Belt - New Look (£3.99)

Basically ideal for the summer, and the most casual my style will ever go.

Floral Blouse - Topshop (current season)
Faux Suade Shorts - Tesco (£16.00)

Ok - so not chinos, but i still had to have them! I had seen plenty of suede brown paper-bag shorts everywhere, but for thirty pounds i couldn't really justify another pair of shorts in my wardrobe. However at that price, what a steal! Most high-waisted items are a no-go area, they never quite fit usually gaping at the front, but these, unlike the Miss Selfridge pairs aren't too bulky.

What are you thoughts on chinos? I think they can look very on-trend, but without looking like you've tried so hard. Plus they go with everything and anything!

Sunday Kind of Loving

Wednesday, February 23, 2011
Yesterday i took my mother into central London to do some shopping and treat her to afternoon tea. After a good nose around the shops, and her trying on a thousand blazers we made our way to Beas of Bloomsburys in St Pauls. I had come across it's sister tea shop in Holborn when i was interning at Stylist, with the most gorgeous looking cupcakes and large meringues, it resembles my own personal heaven! With it's very popular nature and the tea shop being rather dainty, you are only able to book a table at St. Pauls shop. Tucked away just behind the cathedral, we ate mini baguettes, scones and cream, mini meringues, the most fabulous iced cupcakes and miniature marshmallows; with a pot of tea for two for £15 a head. A very, very reasonable price to pay for a decent afternoon tea in London town i dare say. The tea shop is so lovely, i really recommend a visit to Beas in Holborn, even if your popping in for a take out cupcake!

Never mind the beautiful creation right there, look at all the cupcakes in the wall!

I made a few purchases on the day naturally, i first went to one of the H&M 's on Oxford St, which at the moment have some fabulous (affordable) spring/summer pieces in. I don't feel so guilty buying summer clothes when i know they aren't high prices - i'm looking at you Topshop.

Broderie detail striped breton teeshirt - (£9.99)

I'm drawn to stripes. I own endless stripy dresses, tops, jumpers, you name it. I couldn't resist. I can't wait to wear these with my denim shorts in the summer.

Long Knitted Cardigans - Cream & Grey (£7.50 each)

These were reduced to half price, i needed no reason. I live in cardigans, so at the price, there was no question about it. I seriously urge you to hunt these out!

Scarf  - (£12.99)

I'm pretty obsessed with oversized scarfs, just me? Yes. Despite the fact it's actually a cape/poncho thing, i can't wait to team this camel scarf with my black Zara blazer, plus how perfect is this for an aeroplane journey?

Camel Court Heels - Primark (£12.00)

On our way home we nipped in to Primark in East Croydon, amid the flurry of half-term teens i managed to score some rather nice pieces! I say this proudly as i never, repeat never, find anything in Primark. I picked up these court heels, as i cannot bare to part with zillions of pounds for heels i literally only wear once in a blue moon. I'm a flats girl, through and through. But these are the perfect all round colour/shape/style for those 'oh dear lord, why do i not own ANY suitable heels?' Sorted.

 Sheer Blouse - (£8.00)

I had to double take a look at this, from Primark are you sure? Yes! And as simple as that i bought it in a heartbeat.

Do you have any tea-room recommendations?
 Preferably affordable.
